SUMMER TIME FUN!
Well, its hard to believe that it is already the 3rd of July. This time is "bitter/sweet" to me. Growing up, and well really until I moved to San Diego, the 4th of July was my FAVORITE holiday! As a kid, I got up early on the 4th and started firing off black cats, making bombs, and blowing up everything I could... or at least setting it on fire! Getting on my bike and going to the fire work stand and buying more! (of course I would never let my kids have that much fun, what were my parents thinking!?) My dad would take some time out to blow stuff up with me, teach me things I was sworn NEVER to tell my mom about... Then as the day kept going we would make home made ice cream in the ice cream crank and usually bbq, all the fresh corn and beans from the garden, and maybe even some strawberries and watermelon. Living in the city, well, the 4th just isn't the same! The closest, I guess was about 7 yrs ago when we went to the desert and shot guns and some fireworks...but if i remember...it was 115 degrees out...uuugggghhhhh. So, for the past 10 yrs I really haven't gotten to blow anything up or set anything on fire. But, I still love the 4th, I love to see the flags flying everywhere, I love to see people thinking about our freedom and our country. Ya know, we may not see eye to eye on our political views, or our religious ideas, and I will be the first to admit... America is not what it used to be, and not what I had hoped it would be when I was a kid... BUT, no matter what...I AM PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN! HAPPY 4th of July to everyone!

I love my "job"!
I have had the honor to be part of the Murphy Canyon Little League’s Military Weekend. Fri night they had a baseball clinic for the kids, several retired Major League Players as well as lots of the Military All-Star Players taught the kids the basics as well as signed autographs and took pictures. Today, Sat., they held the Military All Star Golf Classic at Admiral Baker Golf Course. There were some celebrities, ball player and just a lot of great people there today. I took portraits and was able to raise $150 to donate to the Wounded Warrior Foundation. I am exhausted, but looking forward to tomorrows events at the Tony Gwynn Stadium, lots going on, including a Celebrity Softball Game followed by the All-Star Baseball game… we will get to see some great players from the past and present having fun for a great cause!
(P.S. Thanks Michael Massaglia, sorry to say, but I am glad you were busy and gave me the chance to get involved in this...I know you wish you could have been here!)

Looking back over the years
So, as you already know…I am not much of a “blogger”, and for those of you who know me, know I am a big talker….and I write and journal for personal stress relief, but the idea of “BLOGGING” has always scared me, so I think I am going to take a different approach to this whole blog thing… I think I am just going to put down my personal thought and not stress about it so much…Here we go… my “new blog” Everyone knows I have been a portrait photographer my whole life, I mean, even before I was trained and became professional, I took portraits…I was 8 when I remember falling in love with portraits photography. I posed my dolls, friends, family…. Well, the past few days I have been going through personal photos, sorting things and WOW… it really reminded me…I really have an important job! I mean I know, I’m not a doctor or scientist…I’m not going to cure anything or anyone… but I have the honor of preserving memories, not just for my family but for your family. I know today we all have cameras in our cell phone, but in 3 yrs, where are those pictures? We all take it for granted, but when I take your portraits, you keep them, treasure them….look back on them! Here are a few portraits that I have taken over the years that I have recently looked back on…. Awwww how the time flies!

Double the Love Double the Fun
Early on in my life, my dad used to tell me… “If you want to be successful, find something no one wants to do and get really good at it.” One of the first things I noticed about photographers is that no one really liked taking portraits of twins, triplets and large groups. So I began to search them out and began to work on poses and found that I really enjoyed the extra challenges of photographing multiples and big groups! I have been a professional portrait photographer since 1989, I continue to work on my skills and try to challenge myself as much as I can… Check out the beautiful babies that were just in my studio...
